這是一套應用在3DStudioMax4.2上面最有名的動畫軟體，它可以接受Video所拍
攝的臉部表情影像用來結合你的動畫人物臉部，讓你在很輕鬆及無任何感覺之下就
完成了動畫人物的許多動作變化及改變，所以是一套用來做人物動畫的最佳的外掛
套件。

FaceStationisasuiteofsoftwareapplicationsthatallowyoutoanimate
headsandfacesin3dsmaxbysimplyspeakingandactingintoavideo
camera.Eyematic'sfacialtrackingsoftwareautomaticallyidentifiesa
humanfaceinavideoimage,andthenplaces22virtualmarkersatkey
positionsontheface.Themovementofthesemarkersisthen"tracked"
fromeachvideoframetothenexttogeneratefacialanimationdata.This
dataisusedtoanimateamodelin3dsmax.

Youcanchoosebetween:
UsingFaceLiftertotrackprerecordedvideofiles.Youcanrecordvideo
filesdirectlyintoFaceLifterorloadvideofilesthatyouhavecreated
elsewhere.

UsingFaceTrackertotrackalivevideoperformancedirectlyinto3dsmax
fortruefacial"puppeteering."Eitherway,thefacialanimationdata
generatedinthetrackingprocessisusedtodrivefacialanimationin
3dsmax.Thisanimationdataisfunneledinto3dsmaxusingtheFaceDriver
plug-in,whichreplacesyourexisting3dsmaxMotionCaptureUtilitywith
amorepowerfultool.

Althoughitispossibletousethefacialanimationdatatodeform
localizedareasofamesh(usingbonesorvertexclusters),FaceStation
isprimarilydesignedtoanimatefacialexpressionsusingasimpleset
ofpredefinedmorphtargets.Thesemorphtargetsareveryeasytocreate
fromcopiesofyourneutralheadmodel.However,FaceStationincludes
AvatarEditor,aneasy-to-useprogramthatallowsyoutocreatefully
texturedheadmodels(withallnecessarymorphtargets)usingonlya
simplefrontandsideimageofahead.

Onceyouhaveinstalledandre-bootedyourmachine,youarereadytoapply
oneofthesuppliedpatches.Runtheincluded"hv-FaceStn15.exe"patch.
ThiswillremovethePaceenvelopeandpatchthepaceapifrom3files.
PleasemakesureyouonlyhaveONEinstanceof"FaceLifter.exe,
FaceTracker.exeandFd_mcutl.dlc"onyourharddrive,orthepatchwill
fail!!Youdontneedtohaveallthreeinstalled,buttheremustonlybeone
instanceofthosethatare.

Nowthereisanissuewiththelastprograminthesuite.TheAvatar
editor!!!

Icouldnotpatchthisfileatall!!ItmakesexclusivecallstothePace
ApithatIcan'tgetridofwithouttheprogramcrashing.Sowewillhave
touseaworkaroundforthisone.Thisiswherethesecondpatch"hv-
PaceReset.exe"comesin.

WhenyouruntheAvatarEditoryouwillgetthepace15daytrialreminder.
Justclicktrytocontinue.Nofunctionsarecrippledinanywaysojust
useitasnormal.Whenyour15daytrialhasexpired...justrunthatother
patch"hv-PaceReset.exe"torestoreyour15daytrialperiod.
